Ankel problems in kphb Hyderabad

Sprains and Strains : A sprain occurs when the ligaments in the ankle are stretched or torn, while a strain involves the muscles or tendons. Both injuries can result from sudden twisting motions or overuse, leading to swelling, bruising, and difficulty moving the ankle.

Ankle Fractures: A fracture is a break in one or more of the bones that make up the ankle joint. Fractures can result from trauma, such as falls, accidents, or sports injuries. Depending on the severity, fractures may require immobilization or surgical intervention.

Achilles Tendonitis and Tears : The Achilles tendon, located at the back of the ankle, is susceptible to inflammation (Achilles tendonitis) due to overuse or sudden exertion. A complete tear of the tendon can lead to significant pain, swelling, and difficulty walking, often requiring surgical repair.

Arthritis : Arthritis in the ankle can cause pain, swelling, and stiffness, limiting movement. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis affecting the ankle, usually caused by wear and tear of the cartilage over time. Rheumatoid arthritis may also impact the ankle joint, leading to inflammation and discomfort.

Tendon and Ligament Injuries : Ligaments and tendons in the ankle can be injured from sudden movements, overuse, or improper footwear. These injuries can cause pain, swelling, and instability in the joint, making it difficult to walk or perform daily activities.

Flat Feet and Overpronation : Flat feet, or fallen arches, can affect ankle function and lead to pain in the lower legs, knees, and feet. Overpronation, where the foot rolls inward excessively, can cause additional strain on the ankle, leading to discomfort and injury.

Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome: Tarsal tunnel syndrome occurs when the tibial nerve is compressed within the tarsal tunnel at the back of the ankle. This condition can cause pain, tingling, or numbness in the ankle and foot, often affecting people who engage in repetitive activities or overuse of the ankle.

Ankle problems can range from mild discomfort to severe injuries that can significantly affect mobility and daily activities. At Dr. Swaroop Chandra’s Orthopedic Clinic, we specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of ankle conditions, ensuring that patients receive the best care for optimal recovery.

Causes of Ankle Problems :-

Dr Swaroop Chandra

Avoid putting unnecessary weight on the injured ankle during the initial healing phase. Use crutches or a brace if recommended by your doctor to prevent further strain and allow the ankle to heal properly

Rest and Protect the Ankle

Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation are crucial for managing swelling and reducing pain. Apply an ice pack for 15-20 minutes every few hours, use a compression bandage for support, and elevate your ankle above heart level to minimize swelling.

Follow the R.I.C.E. Protocol

Once the pain and swelling decrease, begin gentle stretches and strengthening exercises as advised by your physical therapist. These exercises will help restore mobility, improve strength, and prevent stiffness in the ankle joint

Gradual Rehabilitation Exercises

Supportive and comfortable footwear is essential during recovery. Avoid high heels, tight shoes, or unsupportive footwear to reduce strain on the ankle and promote proper alignment as it heals.

AMAZING !
Dr Swaroop Chandra is one that I would suggest at any point of time for orthopaedic issues. He's been a great person to understand a patient's issue and suggest , treat at his best methods.
My brother had to go through Achilles tendon surgery for his left ankle. He not only treated so well, but been a great support whenever we looked out for a call / quick meeting.
His unique capability of being humble and make us understand the health situation, instead of just writing up a medicine is what differentiates others from Swaroop Chandra sir.
We highly recommend this doctor. He is very professional and a supportive person.
